Lois Macaulay Design produces original furniture. “I really enjoy turning ideas into beautiful things. There is excitement in reinventing old pieces and creating entirely new ones.”
The design office, workshop and showroom feature exclusive pieces, imported accessories and lighting in fully designed vignettes housed at 98 Hazelton Avenue, Toronto, Ontario.
We design furniture to perfectly fit the individual client’s design theme and the architectural proportion of their space. Beginning with a technical drawing our carpenter, blacksmith, stone cutter, acrylic fabricator, or upholsterer go to work to realize the custom design. The finishes are added by hand in our own workshop. Each piece is unique, no two are alike!
Europe’s oldest and most noble textile houses sell exclusively through interior designers. We do not shy away from using their quality goods which are judiciously cut for our pillows and accent chairs. Pillows and draperies are sewn by Lois herself. All drapery hems are sewn by hand. Pillow forms are hand stuffed with our signature blend of white down and feathers.
Anyone who has tried knows how difficult it is to pull a room together and complete every last detail of the project. There is no substitute for years of experience and a team of craftsman united by mutual respect. The distinctive quality brought to an interior by a professional designer defies explanation.
With an unbroken climb in property values, is it any wonder refitting existing homes is so popular? A new property requires tailoring for the new resident. We bring skilled problem solvers to every situation.
